Ben planted Gospel Community Church out of Gospel City Church in Granger and has been the Senior Pastor since we launched autonomous in the fall of 2020. He has been married to his bride, Nikki, since May of 2003 and together they have 5 children. The Lord opened his eyes to his need of a Savior at a very young age and he was saved after hearing a Sunday School teacher explain repentance. He was then called into ministry as a sophomore in college and has been greatly influenced by Gospel-centered teaching through pastors such as John Piper. His primary aim is for unbelievers to hear the authentic Gospel message of repentance and faith and for believers to understand that the Gospel applies to all of life. We never move on to greater truths because the Gospel IS the greatest truth! He claims Isaiah 26:3-4 as a favorite verse of Scripture, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
Zach joined the staff at Gospel Community Church in November, 2020, after moving from Colorado to become our worship pastor. He and his wife Margaux have been married for 7 years and have 3 daughters under the age of 5. As a family, they like to find new things to do together and explore new places.
Zach came to Christ at a youth camp during his freshman year of high school and has been serving the Lord since. At the church in which he grew up, he was given the opportunity to lead worship every Sunday night which led him to rethink his career path during his sophomore year of college. That’s when he accepted God’s calling to pursue ministry. His favorite verse is Isaiah 55:8-9 – “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’”
Sarah is the part-time Children’s Director at Gospel Community Church. She married Dan in 2010 and they have two daughters together- Hayley (9), and Lauren (7). The Archers began attending Gospel Community in January of 2021. They have family ties at Gospel City in Granger and Redemption City in South Bend.
Sarah was saved at age 11 or 12 through the teaching of Romans 10. Her college years were transformative in her walk with the Lord, and she is thankful for how Campus Crusade for Christ impacted her life. One of Sarah’s favorite Bible verses is Psalm 9:10- “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.” As a former elementary teacher, Sarah has always had a heart for working with kids. She is grateful for the opportunity to come alongside families in teaching Gospel-centered truth from the Word of God.
Aaron serves as an elder and small group leader at Gospel Community Church. He is married to Jessica and they have six kids: Brady (14), Lily (13), Jake (11), Henry (10), Lilah (8), and Regi (6). Aaron has been part of Gospel Community Church since the fall of 2017, and was part of the original church planting team. Aaron came to Christ at the age of 21 and has been involved in lay ministry ever since. His desire is to magnify Christ with his life, and one of his favorite life verses comes from John 3:30 – “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
Mark is an Elder of Gospel Community Church. He and his wife Stacey, who is the Women’s Ministry Director, have lived in Elkhart County for 50+ years and have been married for 35 years. They have two children: Trent who lives in Illinois and Courtney Jones Stubbs (married to Mike). They also have two grandsons, Titus and Tate. Mark was part of the original three couples from Gospel City Church in Granger who began the effort to plant Gospel Community Church. He came to Christ at a basketball camp in 1980 where he understood clearly Gods love for him and his need for a Savior. As a young man he was mentored by a Godly man who propelled him to do the same for other young men in the church. Mark has a heart for people and a desire to see others grow deeply in Jesus Christ. His favorite verse is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
